Emmaus Chrysalis Kairos Schedule of Weekends

To get involved in Emmaus, each person must have a sponsor who has already attended Emmaus. There are several people from Wendell United Methodist Church who have attended Emmaus, Kairos and Chrysalis and they will be on hand to share some information and answer questions. We are looking to sponsor some people who want to attend the upcoming weekends.

We will have a brief Q&A meeting on Sunday January 30th in the church fellowship hall. We will meet after the early service at 10:00 am and again after the 11:00 service at noon.

The Walk to Emmaus is a spiritual renewal program that begins with a 72-hour short course in Christianity. Men and women attend separate weekends and the “Emmaus community,” made up of those who have already attended a weekend support the experience with prayer, by preparing and serving meals, and by other acts of unconditional love and self-giving.

The Walk to Emmaus is ecumenical; it is a time of prayer, meditation, worship and fellowship with other Christians from many different denominations. It is a weekend filled with spiritual growth and definitely an experience that you will remember for the rest of your life! Visit the Heart of Carolina Emmaus website for more information:

Chrysalis is the Youth version of Emmaus. It is a weekend where the youth strengthen their friendship with Christ and learn to bring this relationship back to their family, friends and community. For more information on Chrysalis visit:

Kairos is the same as Emmaus except the weekend is inside of prison walls. The ministry is conducted with the cooperation of the chaplains of the correctional institutions and the clergy and laity who are on the teams are selected, trained and certified by the governing board of Kairos.
