Congregational Care Committee

Responsibilities include:

1- Family Night Ministry – try to plan at least one family activity each month (alternating family night with supper club outings).

2- Shut-In Ministry-
Committee members drop off good cheer baskets occasionally throughout the year and our new 2007 goal are: to visit one each month whereas visits may include bringing a meal that day and bringing copies of the taped Sunday service, sending birthday cards and anniversary cards. We would also like to share communion with them every other month with the minister.

3- College Student Ministry – committee sends birthday cards signed by the church community and Christmas cards as well and we also send welcome packages when they first arrive and then again exam week “goody boxes”. Our 2007 goals are to help college students not loose their focus on God and the importance of prayer. We need to find new ways to help them fit in to their new community and search out church services for them to attend. In April, we will include in their boxes personal invitations to join the Sunday school class for Young Adults for the summer.

4- Senior Adult Ministry – Our committee will plan activities for the senior adults both cultural and spiritual. They enjoy getting out and sharing fellowship with other seniors. We also call members and send cards of cheer or when they are sick and at home for long periods of time.

5- Young Adult Ministry – Our 2007 goals are to assist the young adult leaders  plan activities. We also need to make sure the college students will be included in their activities during the summer months. We will plan some mixers with other groups in the church.

6- Children’s Ministry – Assisting the Youth leaders in whatever areas they need help and to give them support in their youth activities. In spring, we plan the church-wide Easter egg hunt and Graduate Sunday service and luncheon. (The 2 leaders of both children’s ministry and college student ministry will plan Graduate Sunday event).

7- New Member Ministry – Our goals are to nurture new members that join our church. We will continue to have Fellowship Sunday (quarterly).
The dinners will consist of new members along with a small group of older members. They will have a chance to visit and share their church experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. This activity can be done twice a year depending on growth.
